Why the Moon is up in daytime
The Moon is above the horizon for roughly half of every day regardless of phase. Around full moon it rises at sunset and sets at sunrise, so it is up all night. Around first and last quarter it is high in the sky during the afternoon or morning — which is why you often see it in daylight.
